OUR STORY

Welcome to Bayside Resort, where memories are made naturally.

Nestled amongst the tall pines of the Chippewa National Forest, Bayside Resort sits on the shores of Agency Bay.  This ideal location offers the feel and protection of being on a small lake, while still giving easy access to the "big waters" of Leech Lake.

Let us be the first to welcome you to Leech Lake, the 3rd largest lake in Minnesota.  Our goal is to make your vacation as enjoyable as possible.

WHO WE ARE
Who we are

We are the Huewe family.

Bob and Margy have been owners and operators at Bayside Resort on Leech Lake for over 25 years.  As life long vacationers to the Leech Lake area, Bob and Margy knew that they wanted to one day own and operate a fishing resort.

Accustomed to fishing smaller area lakes, Leech Lake always seemed overwhelming due to its size.  But when Bob and Margy found Bayside, they knew they found the best of both worlds; a small lake feel on a big lake fishery.

In 2014, Brian, Nicky and their 3 children moved out to the resort to help continue the family business.  Brian grew-up working at the resort and knew it was the perfect place to raise a family.  As a resort that tries to cater to fisherman as well as being a family resort, raising 3 young children at the resort, offers a different expert opinion on what we should offer families with children.

Sadly, Bob passed away in 2019.  He loved Leech Lake, he loved resorting and loved our resort guests.  Bob's chair in the lodge may be vacant but every sunset that graces the shores of Bayside is Bob smiling down on each of us.

Families looking to vacation at  Bayside can find hours of enjoyment at Bayside, without ever wetting a line.  The waters of Leech Lake can be enjoyed at our sandy beach.  Take a stroll across the surface of the lake in one of our beach kayaks.  For the kids in all of us, try out our Rave Water Trampoline Park and find a friend to launch or to launch you off of the attached Aqua Launch.

If you wish to stay on shore, kids of all ages enjoy our fort style playground its attached swing set, plus a merry-go-round and teeter totter.  You can also choose to shoot some basketball, perfect your volleyball serve or challenge a partner to a game of horseshoes.

Built brand new in 2017 is our "Wreck" Room.  This brand new building houses our new game room, laundry room and restroom.  Inside you will find a billiard table, pinball and a dart board.  Relax on the sofas and watch TV on the 52" big screen.   Feel free to use the space for family meals, game nights or just a quiet place to get away and relax.

Fisherman will love the location of Bayside Resort, with its central location on Leech Lake.  Located just minutes from our dock is some of the best Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Panfish and Bass fishing in Minnesota.

After a day on the water, let us take care of your catch.  We offer free fish cleaning to all of our guests.  As licensed fish packers, we will clean, wrap, mark and freeze your day's catch.  Or if you want to enjoy a fresh fish shore lunch, let us know and we will have them wrapped and in the fridge, waiting for the fryer.

We also offer dockside refueling and our baitshop carries a variety of live bait and bags of ice.

If you don't want to venture out on the boat, cast a line in at the end of our 100' dock.  As the day draws to an end, the benches over the water give a great view to some of the best sunsets you will ever see.

Don't miss another sunset... Book your vacation today!!
